Maternity Insurance: Beneficiaries and Conditions for Entitlement

Female employees, public servants and self-employed women are entitled to benefit under the Invalidity Insurance (Self-employed Persons) Act (WAZ) on account of pre-natal and maternity leave amounting to 100 percent of their daily wage or salary (maximised) for at least 16 weeks. If the claimant is sick prior to her pre-natal leave or after her maternity leave, she may be entitled to receive benefit under the Sickness Benefits Act.
